St. James Fellowship

by Janie Mason

In our current sermon series, Doug is encouraging us to dig deeply into the spiritual wisdom found in the Book of James. We see James, the brother of Jesus, encouraging his brothers and sisters in Christ when trials, troubles, and temptations come. These are the same teachings that guide the ministry of St. James Fellowship.

Reverend John Patterson and ministry associates reach out to more than 450 elderly and disabled in seven assisted living facilities in Monroeville and the surrounding area as well as in their homes. Their lives are complicated by physical, emotional, and mental afflictions, isolation, and every manner of infirmity of age. For all of us, it is easy to focus our thoughts on our problems and afflictions. It is especially so in their circumstances. Their relationship with John and associates encourages them always to direct their eyes to the Lord Jesus Christ. It reminds them that God will meet them in their trials and that Jesus will give them the abundant blessing of the crown of life. The ministry brings to them the joy of the Holy Spirit who is sovereign over all things, including trials.

Services offered by St. James Fellowship include regular opportunities for worship, Bible study, hymn singing, Communion, counseling, and personal visits. Many have been personally touched by the faithful, spiritual support offered by the ministry.

St. James Fellowship is grateful for the regular mission funding of Hebron Church and for the prayers and participation of Hebron. If you would like to make a financial contribution, make your check payable to St. James Fellowship and mail to 1467 Madden Drive, Monroeville, PA  15146.
