Hebron's Mission Activity Fund

by Barrett Hendrickson

It has been a productive first year for the Mobilization Team.  One of the privileges that we have is supporting our missionaries in the field, as well as promoting ways for members of Hebron to go into the world and share the light of Christ. Our Mission Activity Fund is designated to help us provide functions that promote missions to the congregation through meet and greets, fundraisers, and other missions/outreach activities that might arise throughout the year.

This year, our Mission Activity Fund went to help provide the pictures and decorations for the Missions Bulletin boards that are in the hallway of the Barclay Building and on the second floor of the administrative wing of the main building. Make sure you are checking those out to get information on the mission agencies we partner with. We try to update them monthly. Janie Mason does a lot of work to keep them updated and looking fresh.

This summer, the father of one of our partners in North Africa passed away and the family came home to celebrate his life. Our Mission Activity Fund was used to help pay for that unexpected expense, to encourage them as they work in the field as well as mourn the loss of a father and grandfather.

We also gave $2400 to help with the Lost and Found Pharmacy's financial aide program which goes to help uninsured and underinsured people in the Medicare Gap pay for their prescriptions. In the 2018 year, we have designated L&F as one of our Mission Partners and they will have their own line in the Hebron budget.

To help YoungLives, our mission partner that helps young moms connect to the church through mentoring, camps and fellowship, we bought picture frames so the moms that went to camp this summer could have a reminder of their time at camp.

We also purchased two tables at the wonderfully produced PitCare fundraiser this past December. The result of that evening was incredibly beneficial for the development of that ministry to our neighboring borough.

We are looking forward to continuing to promote our mission partners in the coming year. Make sure you are keeping up in the Hebron Herald for ways you can join with others at Hebron to be used by God to show Himself to the world.
