PitCare

by Bill Kear

“So You Think You Got Talent, Season 10”, a delightful and entertaining Mystery Dinner Theater presentation, was staged at the Hebron Barclay Building on Friday evening, December 29. The group of over 20+ young folks  from Grace Presbyterian Church in Dalton, GA, led by Rev. Wes Parsons, did a wonderful job staging the show and serving the meals.

The purpose of the evening was to raise funds for PitCare, and the Kim Parsons Memorial Fund. PitCare is a non-profit organization based in Pitcairn, and run by our friend, brother, and regular guest preacher, Scott Parsons. Scott’s wife, Kim, was called home by the Lord suddenly back in October 2017, and a Memorial Fund has been established in her name that will continue to benefit and bless the PitCare Ministry. As many are aware, PitCare seeks to help alleviate poverty, mentor children, operate a food pantry, and provide life skills for families in Pitcairn; all while sharing the Gospel and the Truth about Jesus.

In spite of the frigid weather on the 29th, the evening was an unqualified success! Many Hebron folks jumped in and helped with organization & planning, meal preparation, set-up, clean-up, etc. There were over 165 guests in attendance; and approximately $25,000 was raised for the Kim Parsons Memorial Fund and PitCare.

As a body of believers at Hebron, we are excited about the opportunity to continue supporting Scott and PitCare, whether by sharing our time and talents  or contributing financial gifts.
