Women's Ministry - Exciting Opportunities!

Women’s Ministry is planning exciting opportunities for women to take time out of their regular schedules to EMBRACE God (spending intentional time strengthening your relationship with God) and others (going beyond ourselves and serving those in need). Will you EMBRACE the invitation to be a part of it?!?

On April 30th and May 7th you have the opportunity to minister to others outside of Hebron as we support L.I.V.I.N.G. Ministry and St. James Fellowship.

With L.I.V.I.N.G. Ministry we will be gathering for the homeless of Pittsburgh who are trying to get their lives back on track. For St. James Fellowship, we will be gathering for the elderly and disabled that need an extra token of encouragement, love, and support. Tickets can be found in the tower entrance of the main building and in the Barclay Building with items to purchase. Please help us extend a hand in welcoming someone into a home off the street and making that transition a little easier or help us bring a smile or extra love to an elderly or disabled person who is lonely or feeling forgotten. Please consider gathering the requested items so we can share the love of Christ with these people.

In addition to the gathered items, women who attend the May 12-13 Spring Women’s Retreat will have an opportunity to further serve by making a handmade card or piece of art to include with the gathered items, for a personal heartfelt touch. Supplies are being gathered and prepared to facilitate card creation and to personalize and pray for the individual that may be receiving it. Likewise, supplies and plans are underway to make a coached canvas painting to give as an inspirational gift to a member of the St. James Fellowship. God has given us many gifts, unique to each of us. EMBRACE the gift you have been given and use it to share God’s love with another!

Are you looking to escape the busyness of everyday life and be renewed and refreshed in God’s Word?

The Spring Women’s Retreat - EMBRACE: Being Known and Making Christ Known, is the perfect opportunity to: set aside time for you to meet the Lord, gather with other women who can walk beside you, teach you, encourage you, EMBRACE you, right where you are, and let God lead you to where He wants you to be. Be refreshed and rest in God’s Word. Gain understanding and be inspired by God’s Word. God is reaching out to us and has made His Word available to us. Let us accept Him, EMBRACE Him, and become anchored in Him, as He already knows you! Embrace His love and truth so that you can EMBRACE the call God has placed in your life and begin living it!

I am so excited to see and hear of the ways that God speaks to the women of Hebron and the friends that you invite to join us!! What are you being called to EMBRACE??

Deadline: April 26

Women's Ministry: Behind the Scenes

Here is a brief update on what is going on behind the scenes in Women’s Ministry.

We are praying, gathering, and planning for our upcoming Women’s Spring Retreat at Laurelville in Mt. Pleasant, PA on May 12-13, 2017.

You may be asking why a retreat? A retreat can provide a woman time and space outside of the routines and pressures of daily life so she can focus wholly on God. At the retreat she can be strengthened spiritually through concentrated teaching and fellowship with other women.

Our leadership team is being diligent to consider all of the small details that will help to facilitate this time of refreshment.  Hebrews 10:24-25 says, “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the day drawing near.” Our Women’s Ministry Team is praying for women to consider taking this opportunity to deepen their relationship with God and connect with and be encouraged by other women.

Our 11th Annual Heart Breakfast was well-attended and well-received. I want to take this opportunity, once again, to thank the many hands that helped make it all possible. It was exciting to have so MANY women spending time in fellowship, worship, and teaching together.

Speaking of teaching, how about Kelly Knapp?!? Did you enjoy her message? Are you eager to hear more? Then come to the retreat as Kelly Knapp is going to be our speaker!! She enjoyed her time at Hebron and is looking forward to the teaching and fellowship that we will share together in May. At the retreat God’s word and truth will wash over us in song and teaching from His word.

Our Women’s Ministry Leadership Team prays each woman will embrace God’s love and embrace the growth that only the Holy Spirit can produce. We hope to see you there!!

Information will be available online and in the literature racks soon!!

Women's Ministry - Share the Light

11th Annual Women’s Heart Breakfast

February 18
9:00 to 11:00 am

February is just around the corner and that means: so is Valentine’s Day!! The prominent image thought of when this holiday comes around is a heart, thus the Heart Breakfast held on the Saturday closest to Valentine’s Day.

Valentine’s Day is all about love. At this event our hope is to bring our focus back to the one place where we can really have our heart filled up in a sustaining way- with God’s true love.

In 1 John 4:12 it says, “No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.” Many women will walk through the doors, from a myriad of places and situations, and our God is big enough to touch every single one of them … using someone else that is there!!! I hope you are the one for someone, whether you walk away knowing it or not! That is our prayer.

The theme for the breakfast this year is: “Share the LIGHT.” We will be reminded of the one true Light of the world, GOD, and how He brings light to the darkness - through us! Jesus’ light shines through us as seen in John’s teachings in John 8:12: “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Then Paul teaches us what we are to do as Christ’s followers in Ephesians 5:8b,10: “Live as children of light and find out what pleases the Lord.” We are called to be carriers of that light to the dark places and people in the world around us. The apostle Matthew in Matthew 5:16 said, “let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Let HIS light SHINE so the whole world can experience His love and glorify HIM!

Come join other women around the table. Wear your favorite red.  Share in fellowship and food. Worship our Creator in song. Be filled with HIS love and see how God speaks to you through His Word and a short drama.
