The All Moms Leadership Team is excited to announce we have completed our third semester of ministry! We kicked off the fall semester September 21st and had 6 Tuesday evening meetings. Two new women joined our team (Joy Hickey and Jessicah Lahitou) as Community Builders. Meredith DeWalt has served faithfully as co-director with me, as well as Kelly Knapp and Ruth Ann Slippy who serve as our Mentor Moms. As restrictions have lifted, we have had more freedom to eat together, bring kids to play dates and family events, and even had our first official Mom’s Night Out. We had two meetings focusing on the character of our kids, one night on the topic of marriage, a night to be creative and try crafts led by Jen Balkey, and a final meeting with guest speaker, Steff Knabe, to focus on the birth of Jesus Christ and how peace came to us in the form of a baby - not just for Christmastime but for everyday of our lives.
If you are unfamiliar with our ministry, All Moms is a group of moms who range from pregnant all the way to having a kindergartener. We believe that this unique stage of parenting comes with challenges that open us up to relationships we didn’t know we needed and we strive to connect women to one another who are in the same phase of parenting. It also provides opportunities for older women (Mentor Moms) to pour wisdom into the lives and hearts of the women who are needing to hear the truth - that this season of life reveals to them the Gospel. Everything from sick kids to the early years of marriage, from potty-training to bedtime routines, from navigating in-laws to managing home/work/social life, it all brings us back to the Gospel of Jesus Christ: that God came to dwell with us and promised to equip us in every moment and in every season with the power of the Holy Spirit.
As we continue to grow, our chief goal is that we are serving the Lord faithfully. Through the restrictions and sickness, the technology frustrations and unknown obstacles we face - we desire hearts that take the next best step in this ministry and continue to work with faithful hands all to the praise of His glory.
