Sara Wally Walk/Run for the Homeless

by Jim Alm

Sara Walendziewicz attended a Hebron youth mission trip working with the homeless in Atlanta as a senior in high school. It was an eye opening, life-changing experience for her and sparked in her a passion for helping the homeless.

Sara Wally’s Helping Hands, Helping Hearts is a charitable, nonprofit foundation that was created in Sara’s memory after she went to be with the Lord.

The 7th Annual Sara Wally’s 5K Walk/Run for the Homeless will be held June 29, 2019 at Woodland Hills Intermediate School, 7600 Evans Street Pittsburgh, PA 15218.

The money raised is used for helping the homeless living in Pittsburgh and surrounding areas.

The festivities begin with registration at 8:00 am. Pre-registration is encouraged by going to the website www.SW4H.org. In addition to the 5K run/walk,  the morning includes a basket raffle, prizes, food, music, children’s activities and fellowship.

Last year 160 people attended the event and approximately $6,000 was raised to help the homeless. It was a sunny, joyful day in celebration of Sara that raised awareness and financial support for the homeless.

Another great turnout is anticipated this year. It would be awesome to have new faces of support for this worthy cause. If you are interested in donating or volunteering, please go to the website for information.
