You may remember a few weeks ago Doug talked about the “Joy” of Giving. He told a story about a man who, instead of increasing his lifestyle to match his earnings, chose instead to live a middle class lifestyle and gave 70-80% of his money away. The Stewardship Team has been talking about increasing your giving by the equivalent of a cup of coffee! I think we should be increasing our expectations! Imagine how we could accomplish our vision statement “God will use Hebron to show Himself to the world” if we all continued to live our current lifestyle as our incomes rise.
With the start of summer and the end of school, we know that people’s lives will become busier. It is our hope that the availability of online giving via credit card or bank account will help to make your life simpler in this busy time. As you can see from the chart below, giving through April totals $322,232. This is short of our budget by $44,935. Expenses have been slightly lower than budgeted which has left us with an operating shortfall of $31,948 through April.
