Penn Hills Service Association

“If among you, one of your brothers should become poor, in any of your towns within your land that the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not harden your heart or shut your hand against your poor brother.” Deut. 15:6

These words do not ring truer than through the ministry of the Penn Hills Service Association (PHSA).  Serving the people of Penn Hills for over 50 years, the PHSA provides food, clothing and medical equipment to individuals and families that have been caught in the uncertainty of today’s economy. Supported by the generosity of the Hebron Church family along with other churches, vendors and government agencies, Director Ed Hoover, a Hebron member, leads a volunteer staff that collects, categorizes and prepares these necessities for weekly distribution to our brothers and sisters.

In addition to these weekly distributions, special distributions take place during Thanksgiving and Christmas that provide a holiday feast to celebrate the joys of the season. While there are not any fees to the patrons, there is an eligibility factor in order so that limited resources are placed where the need is.

If you are led to be part of this ministry, contact Mr. Hoover at the center on Universal Road in Penn Hills or contact me, John Sciullo, at 724-516-2600 or 1quartercav@gmail.com.
