Family Guidance’s Promise Camp has been providing a quality summer experience for Pittsburgh area kids for more than 30 years. Accredited by the American Camp Association, the camp is located 25 miles outside of Pittsburgh in Clinton, PA. Each year hundreds of children, ages 7-17, learn about the promise of Jesus Christ while experiencing a variety of activities and making lasting friendships.
The program is specifically designed to minister to the needs of kids from disadvantaged backgrounds. Promise Camp’s inside facilities include an activity center for large group meetings, worship, crafts, and games. Outside, kids can enjoy the rock climbing wall, covered basketball court, and a large in ground swimming pool. In the woods, kids can team up for the ropes and challenge courses, take nature walks, and even pick berries.
Camp is usually children’s first opportunity to go away from home, even if only for a week. This is often the first time in their lives children start to form their own ideas and plan their own lives – what they believe, what they aspire to, what kind of life they want to lead. They’re asking the questions for which only Jesus has the answers.
In addition to its monthly support, Hebron has provided work teams to help prepare the camp for winter and summer, and has sponsored campers in the summer program.
Please pray as the summer staff begins work in June!
