Missions - North Africa

“E” is privileged to lead over a dozen women workers (missionaries) in a seven-week study of 1 John entitled Abide.  This is an important aspect of our ministry here…providing opportunities for study and growth for the worker community, that they might thrive as they do the work God has called them to among locals. Please pray for her and for the women participating, that the joy of Christ would be in them, and that their joy may be full.

I have been partnering with two other workers in follow-up ministry. Two days out of the week, we meet with 3-6 individuals (separately) to study Scripture. Many of these guys are serious in pursuing a life of discipleship. Additionally, I have been coaching or helping 2 other groups who are also seeking to mature and grow in the Lord.  It is a new season here in the country. It’s fun (and humbling) to see what God is doing. Please keep praying for the work of the Holy Spirit among these new believers and seekers.

Both schools that our children attend are in desperate need of teachers (K-12). If you, or anyone you know, is looking for an opportunity to teach overseas (even for just a year) please have them email us ASAP!  Please be on the lookout or praying about who might want to serve in this way. Pray that Our Father would provide the teachers our community urgently needs.

As for the kids, “M2” is having a great time in first grade. She is enjoying her time with kids from literally all over the world. “W” continues to amaze and delight us with his creativity and ingenuity. He’s doing great in 6th grade this year. We bought him a jigsaw for wood projects. He still has 10 fingers. “M1” has been accepted to a boarding school in Europe. While she has thoroughly embraced growing up in North Africa (she speaks French, Arabic and English), we are thankful for the opportunity to send her to a high school that exists for kids like her. She’s looking forward to playing sports, living in community, and the academic growth she will experience there. Please pray for our transitional months, for finances, and for this opportunity for “M1”.

We’re getting ready for our 3rd annual English Camp. We’ll also be helping host and serve summer interns coming over to learn about life on the field. Please pray for camp preparations and planning.

Finally, it’s been a challenge and joy to preach through Galatians. Friends—we no longer have to prove ourselves. We no longer have to put some spin on our stories.  Our worth is not determined by our performance. Good News—because of Christ, through Christ, and in Christ—God smiles upon us.
