Could it have been any more lovely or breezier or more fun? This women’s event was a smashing success – God’s presence was felt and there was joy! The Women’s Ministry Leadership Team held our annual “Peaches in the Park” gathering on July 21 at Universal Park, Penn Hills. We had a fabulous time first and foremost gathering in His name and being in fellowship LIVE and in person. There were approximately 55 women who gathered (and some local kiddos in the park that we hung out with and shared our peaches!) and a great time was had by all.
We heard a solid talk given by Jen Balkey on “perseverance” and growth in the Lord. She encouraged all of us to endure hardship and stay steadfast. It was such a creative and soul-nurturing talk and exhortation. To ‘persevere through the heat’ we are to remain ROOTED in our relationship with Christ, have the RESOLVE to know that it is through Christ not ourselves that things happen, and to REMEMBER who to turn to - your fellow believers and His Word to remember all He has done and has promised us He will do.
Big thanks to Seon Jo Park with the creative “Bible Jeopardy” game…it was not fluff or for the faint of heart! We worked hard as teams on those answers and insights – and shared a lot of laughs together. Lastly, we thank God for fresh peaches and ice cream! We are blessed beyond belief at Hebron.
We look forward to all of you joining us this Fall for an “in house” Women’s Retreat most likely in early November. We long for this retreat to be an inter-generational gathering of Hebron women where we can continue to “stir one another up to love and good works – NOT neglecting to meet together, and encouraging one another to know and love Christ more” Hebrews 10:24. Stay connected and in fellowship with one another. We are the Body of Christ.
