Matthew 25:40 states that after the Son of man returns He will say to those on the right, “…verily I say unto you, inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” We know that He was referring to the acts of generosity and kindness towards the poor by these brothers and sisters. Do you realize that we have the same opportunity to show our love for the less fortunate just a short distance from Hebron’s front doors?
Lost and Found Pharmacy is a non-profit establishment designed to address the needs of the uninsured and underinsured with solutions to the high cost of medicine. They offer financial assistance, a myriad of free services, cash prices that are sometimes less than a person’s copay, medical counseling and spiritual support. Virtually all the major insurance plans are accepted so those insured can still realize the low copays while helping to subsidize the Patient Care Fund. In addition, the soda fountain also subsidizes the pharmacy by offering great food, Hershey’s Ice Cream and refreshing shakes. It is also the focal point for events such as musical talent, crafts and Game Night.
Now, think outside the box for a moment on how else you can serve your brother. Prayerful support as well as financial gifts are obvious, but it is simpler than that. Currently, the delivery team is fully staffed, but a gift of a few hours weekly can help to cover vacations and increased deliveries. Fancy yourself a handyman or handywoman? You can help save a significant amount of money which would be used in the Patient Care Fund. Do you feel called to lead a craft class or children’s hour? The blessings are endless.
