Hebron has supported Dave and Fran Jordan throughout their 35- year ministry working for New Tribes Mission (NTM) with the Prai Tribe in the northeastern hill country of Thailand. The Jordans’ ministry focus is on Bible translation and church planting. For this to take place, the Bible must be translated and taught, believers discipled, and Bible lessons provided for progressive foundational teaching.
The Jordans are close to finishing their primary work with the Prai. They expect the Bible translation to be completed within three years. The remaining books of the New Testament have been completed and they are now making edits with the help of a consultant. Plans are to have the Prai language New Testament prepared for printing with the addition of maps, a few notes, and illustrations by September 2017. They hope to produce 200–300 inexpensively bound copies before year-end.
A few additions and revisions to the Old Testament, which has already been translated, should be completed by March 2018 and the complete Bible printed by December 2018.
Dave and Fran are currently in the process of developing a Bible curriculum writing team and giving Bible training to Christians from across the border.
Wages for translators and workers are expected to cost approximately $10,000. It will cost $3,000 to print the New Testament, $25,000 to print the complete Bible, and $3,000 to produce the video version.
Please continue to pray for the Jordans as they work to finish their mission. Please also pray that adequate funds will be raised for the completion of the translation and printing of the Prai Bible.
